Body and hair reduction

Laser hair removal in Lucerne

Diode laser treatment targets pigment in actively growing hair to achieve long-term hair reduction. Several sessions are needed because only part of the hair is in the responsive growth phase at any one time.

Why several sessions are needed

The laser's light is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted to heat. Treatment is effective only when the hair is connected to the follicle in the active growth phase, so the same area is treated at intervals.

The number of appointments varies by area, hair colour, density, hormonal factors and individual response. New hormonally driven growth can also appear later, so no responsible provider can promise that every hair is gone forever.

Dark, pigmented hair responds best. White, grey, red and very light blond hair contains too little pigment for reliable energy transfer. We explain this before starting a series.

Do not wax or epilate between sessions because the hair needs to remain in the follicle. Shaving is allowed and is usually part of preparation. Sun exposure, tanning and certain medication can require postponement.

Rocío Furger holds the required Swiss qualification for hair removal with laser, dated 2024.

Common questions

What laser treatment can and cannot do

Is the result permanent?

The responsible description is long-term hair reduction. Treated follicles may stop producing hair, but hormonal changes can stimulate new growth later and no provider can guarantee every hair is removed forever.

Which hair colours respond poorly?

White, grey, red and very light blond hair has too little pigment for reliable laser targeting. Darker pigmented hair generally responds better.

Can I wax between sessions?

No. Waxing and epilating remove the hair from the follicle. Shaving is permitted and is normally required before treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

The number varies by area, hair, hormones and response. We provide an estimate after assessment and review progress rather than promising a fixed total.

Can recently tanned skin be treated?

Recent sun or tanning can increase risk and may require postponement. Tell us about exposure and self-tanning products before your appointment.
